On Friday our playgroup took a tour of the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport. This is the airport that is connected to our campus. This campus used to be a military base and they've turned the airfield into a commerical airport to help with flight traffic at Sky Harbour (our main airport). The airport is really cool b/c there are commerical flights, the military stops here a lot for training, there are lots of private jets....and this is where they fly people out of to deport them! They also showed us planes they use when they transport really dangerous criminals from one jail to another. Who know this was all taking place in our backyard?!
We love it b/c its 1/2 mile from us and we see planes all the time. And it makes it super convenient for us to fly to Sioux Falls or from Steven's family to fly to us (hint...hint!)
