Our playgroup visited the Gilbert Fire Dept last week. One of our girls, her husband works at Station #3, so we went for a tour! They did an awesome job! We definitely got the "extended" version! One of the guys took us all around the house, and then into the bay for lots and lots of pictures with the truck. Then another guy came out in the full uniform, face mask and all (which totally freaked out the kids!) but then they explained that they shouldn't be scared, that firemen are there to help them. And then....big finale...each kid got to take a turn turning on and off the hose and spraying it every where. It was great! They even got a call at the end, so we watched them drive off in the truck with the sirens wailing (Avery was not a fan of this...TOO LOUD! she informed me!)
Go Avery Go!
The fireman explaining the kids shouldn't be scared when this big man in a yellow mask comes up to them! I don't know if you can really tell....but Avery was pretty timid (which rarely happens! ha! ha!)
Sorry, this is one of the only shots of Katelyn from the trip! :-)
Our group that took over the firehouse!
